Good Day Everyone!
During Sunday School Pastor Corey addressed a subject that got me remembering how I once was. Someone always focusing on me, me, me. I do not remember the exact wording, but he also touched on the lost and what is the point of living a productive life if there is no after life. Correct me if I misheard. I remember thinking that all this biblical and religious stuff was silly. It isn't silly. What is silly and foolish is someone that does not believe in God and all he has done for us. He sent his Son to die for us. There is a saying, "I would rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it." I'm not saying that God should be replaced with the word "it", but I think it is important that we as Christians grow spiritually and closer to God in our daily walk. As Pastor Corey stated in the sermon today, we are to serve our God and in our society today with no true direction...God is needed more than ever. At one time in our lives (maybe not all, but most of us), we were lost and someone lead us to Christ. We need to return this gift given to us to as many lost as we can. Glory to God!
20 Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep,21 equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Let's continue to to Pray for those dealing with illnesses and health problems. Pray for the many citizens impacted by the storm in Houston. Pray for the nominating committee as they work to place the right members of our Church in the roles they will do God's work in. Pray for our Pastor; pray for our Nation's Leaders. Pray for the issues and concerns weighing heavy on your heart. Praise our God.
