I know it is still Sunday and I normally do not post up my devotionals until the morning...I couldn't wait. This morning the Missions Team that went to Ecuador poured out so much love and detail of their trip that you could not help but appreciate it. Seven people went (including Pastor Corey) and six came back changed forever. The love that they experienced changed them forever. Love for the Lord those children showed them; the love those children showed them. A love like that can change an individual. It was a humbling experience to listen and I came only imagine what it was like to experience first hand as they did.
At the end of the message, Brother Bill stood up and poured his heart out. His words touched my heart. His unconditional love for Brother ClintDaugherty moved many. I will always have a special place for my dear friend and Brother Clint (as does Brother Bill). Clint and I went to school together and graduated together. I remember vividly the stories he told in classes about his wild adventures. Some were fun and some I just told myself I'm glad I didn't not live through that. He was always a good guy to me and I appreciated him for it. I remember returning to Newberry after being away for over 20 years in the Navy and bumping into Brother Clint. He was different; he was a Saved man. Shocked is a good word for it, never thought it would happen, but it did. It truly was awesome to see that he was walking with the Lord. He helped Terri and I when we needed some painting done at the house. He recommended Brother Larry. Terri liked Brother Larry immediately; i believe God placed him in our lives for a reason. That reason? He invited us to Church-Jonesville Baptist Church.
Where is this going?
Well, through Clint we met Larry...with them both we ended up back in the House of the Lord. It reunited a flame inside me and it has gotten bigger over the time I've been going. My relationship with God has grown so much and without Clint and many others I'm not sure this would have happened. Brother Bill's words had me in tears, because I hurt like he was hurting, not seeing my Brother in Church and around us. None of us are perfect; we all have our struggles and God knows I'm constantly working on mine. As I write this, the tears flow. God and I have a growing relationship and I keep worrying about my Brother Clint and his struggles. I pray for him and want to do more, but I'm leaving it in God's hands. Please pray for Brother Clint.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
Continue to pray for Pastor Corey. He really deals with so much and is always in need of God's strength and wisdom in helping and leading others in the right direction. Continue to pray for Brother Bruce and his wife. He is wore out and not feeling all that good, but he continues to love and support his wife and they both need God's Healing Hand. Praise the Lord for what God is doing in Kyle Smith's life. He is a fighter and seeing him and his family today was a blessing. Please pray for Jason's friend who is dealing with back pains and needs medical attention. God knows the right course, so let's pray for the healing hand and strength Jason's friend needs. Pray for Rachel, she is having surgery; she is nervous and really could use all the prayers she can get. Pray that God's hand is guiding the doctor performing the procedure. Continue to pray for the many struggles we all are dealing with. Pray for each other and let's lift one another up. Praise His name for His many blessings!
Have a wonderful Monday!
