Good Morning Everyone,
I certainly hope you all have a great Friday and weekend!
As a parent, I'm sure many of you can agree that raising your kids can be a tough job. Especially when you always find yourself second guessing some of the decisions you have made with them. I do my best to be fair with my boys. I try hard to make them understand how the poor decision they may have today at a young age can be a very bad one as an adult. I do my best to teach respect and courtesy. Show them the value of taking care of what they have. It hurts when I see them make a poor decisions and they get themselves into trouble with others (such as a teacher or another adult). We all want our kids to be the best kids and want to hear others tell us how good they were. I'm guilty at times of getting so frustrated or angry that I poke or pick at my kids and I know that this really scars them. I don't do it a lot, but when we as parents loose control of ourselves, we loose the respect of our kids. They are sponges and we have to remind ourselves they are paying attention to everything. Love them and continue to show them the difference between right and wrong. Nurture them and reassure them we are always there for them. Discipline when necessary, but make sure they understand why. We made our mistakes at their age too, so never forget that. Support and love them.
My prayer today is that we all can continue to grow as parents and do our absolute best with God's help at raising our children. In today's society it is tough, because there is so much working against us! God has control and we just need to continue to lean on Him for guidance. Continue to pray for our Missions Team, our Pastor and everyone and thing weighing heavy on your heart! Praise Him for everything He has given you!
Fathers, do not exasperate your children, so that they will not lose heart.
